Value of work placements
June 2011 byLooking back over the last five years has made me realise just how lucky I have been, to have worked with some of the best individuals and teams in the PR and Marketing industry - and how difficult it is to get a foot onto the media ladder these days.
I remember being offered my first work placement... I snatched at it with both hands! It was taking on a role as a PR administrator for a full service marketing agency and I haven’t looked back since!
Working my way up has given me a great insight into every aspect of PR and Marketing - gaining knowledge, skills, confidence and contacts along the way. We have set up a work placement programme at OnTrack PR to find those talented and creative individuals that tend to fall through the net or feel that all hope is lost, to give them that first crucial leg up onto the extremely competitive media ladder - offering similar opportunities as I gratefully received five years ago.
